Research Interests ~

The Core Director (Ghosh) has a research program via his affiliation with the Medical & Molecular Sciences department at the CHS.

Dr. Ghosh has mentored several students over the years and continues to develop a research program in cell biology, immunology & molecular hematology.

Homeostasis machineries regulating lympho-myeloid & hematopoietic stem cell differentiation

1. Proteostasis – Role of proteostasis and ribosomal quality control in erythroid and lymphoid cell differentiation (Collaborator: Dr. Eric Bennett, UCSD)

2. Mechanosensation – Mechanosensation-mediated tumor surveillance by T and B lymphocytes in aging & stress. (Collaboration: Dr. April Kloxin, UD CBE & Inventia Biosciences)

3. Immuno-Oncology methods development – Tumor surveillance in patients with heart failure (Collaboration: Dr. Christine Hoch, UD CHS & Dr. April Kloxin, UD CBE)

Additional interests –

EVs and CTCs – Role of RBC and PLT-derived extracellular vesicles in aging & stress. (Collaboration: Dr. Bruce Sachias, Blood Bank of Delmarva)

AI Cytometry – High-dimensional cytometry: machine learning, AI foundational models for drug discovery

Research Funding ~

The research program for investigating T cell biology has been possible through generous support from DBI ARC program from State of DE (Award#12A0048). Erythroid differentiation & proteostasis projects are actively supported and developed via support from MMSC as well as INBRE Core Development Awards, supported by the Delaware INBRE program, with a grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences – NIGMS (P20 GM103446) from the National Institutes of Health and the State of Delaware.
